Museum Durif Duo

1 x Scion Durif 2014
1 x 'Crossing Swords' Durif 2014

Winemaker Rowly has released just a dozen of these from his cellar to share around. Two Durifs from the 2014 vintage highlighting terroir, one made using grapes from our Linlithgow estate vineyard in Rutherglen and the other from Heathcote fruit.

GOLD medal winner in the North East Vic Wine Challenge, this is a bright and elegant Durif showing characters of cherry plum, spice and earthiness. Cellaring time has softened the tannins while structure remains. Drink now or put it down for another 3-5 years. 750ml, Alc 13.3%, 341 dozen handmade.

On release Ben Thomas (The Weekly Review) reviewed the Scion Durif 2014:
This Durif is picked young and is opposite to the bruising Durifs that Rutherglen is famous for. With blackberry, raspberry, spice and earth flavours, it's structured and bright with sandy tannins and energetic acidity that's rarely found in Durif.

An exciting collaboration between winemakers Rowly Milhinch (Scion) and Simon Killeen (Simao & Co). Heathcote fruit was sourced to craft a complex, full-bodied Durif showing red plum, chocolate and dried herbs, characters expressive of Heathcote terroir. Drink now or put it down for another 3-5 years. 750ml, Alc 13.8%, 92 dozen handmade.
